This unit is flush at the front as opposed to having the shelves set back. The closed section is deep for the electronic equipment to fit in, but then the shelves are made less deep and the back is forward so that the shelves don’t look ridiculously deep, the TV back is even more forward because that looks nicer too, there is a hole in the back for the TV wires to go straight into, then down into the base unit, that way you don’t see any wires. The shelves have random compartment with flush downlights that highlight key pieces of art or objects. This unit was built in the TV room of a house in Putney.
