These shelves are part of my Milo series of furniture which is made of off cuts of wood from our fitted furniture process. We end up with loads of offcuts as you can imagine because your fitted furniture starts off as large boards and they get cut to all sorts of different sizes. I decided to bring out the Milo series to use up these pieces and this shelves is one of my favourite examples as the pieces needed are very small. They are glue together and reinforced with a metal bar before being glued to the wall with metal bars. They are finished off with a natural oil made by Auro paints. This shelf was part of a large fitted furniture project in a flat in Crystal Palace in South London.
